Most princesses need saving. This one will save you.

The Last Lumenian is a coming of age story of Lilla. She is a not-your-average princess and a rebel-in-disguise, fighting for the refugee's freedom. The arrival of the mysterious and ruggedly-handsome Callum brings news of a bigger battle - the Era War between the two ruling archgods- that threatens not only Lilla's home world but everyone else's in the Seven Galaxies.

Lilla must learn to control her magic and defeat the dark god before He finds her - the last Lumenian.

I recently read The Last Lumenian by S.G. Blaise and Loved it! You can read my spoiler-free review right here!

Ever since then, I haven't been able to stop thinking about it and how much fun I had reading it! I honestly can't wait to read the sequel and see what happens next!

So I thought it would be fun to introduce you all to some of my favorite characters in the book! Spoiler-free, of course so don't worry. I made some aesthetic boards for each character (thanks to Pinterest) and will also tell you which characters from other books they would be best buds with!

And make sure you stick to the end because there's an awesome giveaway too!

So let's dive into it!

First thing's first, let's start with the main character. Lilla is a badass princess who wants nothing more than to stand up for the people who have no voice. But despite being the princess, she has no power in her man's world. So secretly joining the rebellion it is! With her purple hair and purple eyes, she definitely stands out and I simply love her look!

Lilla also suffers from anxiety and claustrophobia. I loved these additions to her character as it is something I can definitely relate to. I also think it's important to include mental "illness" (I really don't like that word) representation.

Lilla is not your average princess. She doesn't sit in a corner and feels sorry for herself and her doomed fate. She has known love and loss and doesn't let it destroy her. She sees a problem and doesn't wait for someone else to fix it. She faces it head-on. She is snarky and witty and her sarcastic comments are a whole mood.

"You live on an island, surrounded by ocean, and you don't like seafood?"

"Yes, the irony is not lost on me."

Lilla would be best friends with: Poppy Balfour, Louise Le Blanc, Zoya Nazyalenski, Grace, Lila Bard.

Next, I present to you General Callum a'ruun, second War General of the Teryn Praelium. Callum will have you swooning from the moment he appears on the page. With his black, silky hair, blue eyes, and sexy scar, he's your next broody, edgy book boyfriend. Oh, and he has sass, lots of sass.

He's got the touch-her-and-you-die vibe completely mastered and I literally drool over it.

Not only does our handsome boy ooze power, he also has manners!

I lean towards the general and whisper, "She wants you to take her hand and kiss it."

"Why?"

"It's customary."

The general's expression darkens as he thinks this through. Instead of giving in and bowing over Beathag's hand, he grasps it. With his left. Then shakes it, hard.

See what I mean? Proper manners!

He and Lilla have a very meet-cute moment that involves vomiting on one's shoes. Very memorable. And their dynamic is on point from the beginning with witty comments and sassy remarks. It's a constant battle of wits.

"You got here just in time to be rescued. By me. How convenient!"

Oh, the arrogance! And I thought him handsome mere minutes ago!

"Who in their right mind would risk their life just to meet you? That's ridiculous! If you ask these nice medics, I'm sure they'll give you something to help your ego deflate."

Callum is always accompanied by Teague, his colonel. Together with Colonel Teague, they form the perfect yin and yang. Callum is dark and broody, Teague is colorful and giddy. Callum is (slightly) murderous, Teague is open and friendly and let's-not-do-that-so-this-doesn't-turn-into-a-disaster. They complement each other perfectly and I love their brotherly banter and loyalty towards one another.

Although Callum is a general, not all his moments are the brightest.

"Now what?"

Callum cracks his neck. "I'm out of ideas."

But he tries his best.

One moment he'll be a dumb idiot like this and the next he'll hit you with inspirational quotes like "It's only a failure if you stop trying altogether."

We love us a boy who can be both.

Callum would be best friends with: Aaron Warner, Kaz Brekker, Rowan Whitethorn, Azriel, and Reid Diggory.

Teague would be best friends with: Cassian, Rhy Maresh, Aedion, Nikolai Lantsov, and Nik Malikov.

Then there is Glenna, Lilla's best friend. Glenna is a servant healer at the palace who secretly takes care of the refugees, consequences be damned. I love her strong character. Servants aren't much respected in the castle and Glenna deals with her fair share of disrespect from the nobles. But she doesn't let them put her down and does not stay silent at their disrespect.

"I am your better, an esteemed member of high society. you do not take that tone with me."

"You are no one's better especially not mine."

Glenna's backstory is tragic and painful. She has suffered a great deal. Yet she is the embodiment of "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger". She's badass, fierce, and loyal, and doesn't cower in the face of danger. I cant' wait to see her character develop even more in the next book.

Glenna would be best friends with: Yrene Towers, Audrey-Rose Wadsworth, Nina Zennik, and Genya Saffin.

Then there is Arrov, our precious blue boy. And I don't mean blue as in sad, I mean blue as in his skin is actually blue. And he looks damn good with it.

Arrov is part of the rebellion and is a great pilot despite what others think. His jubilant personality makes the tensest situations a bit more bearable. He's a true friend who cares about his friends' well-being and will do anything to protect them.

I loved reading the scenes with him, they were so much fun. I can't wait to see more on him in the next book!

Arrov would be friends with: Kenji, Jesper Fahey, Will Herondale, and Mark Blackthorn.

And last but not least there is our Royal Elementalist Mage Ragnald, our sassy mage who is 100% done with literally everyone. Literally everything and everyone offends him. Every comment he makes is so dry and you can just feel how done he is with it all. But that doesn't stop him from taking the Dad role over this group of rug rats and get them out of trouble. It also stands to reason that, as the mage, he's tasked with teaching greenies how to control their magic.

"You can't even control your magic," Ragnald says.

"I know!" Does he have to rub it in?

Ragnald closes his eyes. "We're doomed."

Ragnald really is a poor, unfortunate soul.

But despite his So Done attitude, I still loved his dynamic with the other characters. It's filled with sass and wit. I especially loved his growing friendship with Lilla!

When a mage says uh-oh, is it as bad as when a healer says oops?

As you can see, Ragnald, plans don't always work out the way he wants to, but at the end of the day, he'll make it work with his pizazz.

Ragnald would be best friends with: Magnus Bane, Gandalf, and Kell Maresh.

And that's it! I hope you enjoyed this character introduction! Don't forget to add The Last Lumenian on Goodreads and get yourself a copy!
